HARRISBURG, June 20, 2009 -- Grants totaling nearly $400,000 will allow businesses, colleges and farms in six Pennsylvania counties to reduce their organic waste and put what is left to a better use, Environmental Protection Secretary John Hanger announced today. “This is an example of making something out of nothing,” said Hanger. “Every year, we simply throw away material that can be reused. Organic material such as food scraps, grass clippings and yard waste can be especially useful.

RMC Presented at PA Landscape and Nursery Conference

The RMC successfully streamlined coordination of necessary activities for PC Parts, Inc (PC Surplus Recycling) to acquire an electronics recycling General Permit from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

The PA Recycling Markets Center will present technical information about the use of triple mix glass aggregate at the Region 3 PASEO Meeting on June 27, 2008 at Monarch Products Company in York, PA.
Triple mix container glass can be processed to meet PaDEP specifications and used as an alternate for natural sand in onlot septic construction. When locally available, glass aggregate is cost competitive and can meet or exceed the performance of natural sand aggregate. The PA RMC promotes the use of recycled glass aggregate for onlot and other construction projects.
